The highly publicized Pune Porsche crash case took a new turn on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, as the Juvenile Justice Board decided the 17-year-old driver will face trial as a juvenile. This ruling contradicts the Pune police’s previous plea to try the minor as an adult, a request made after the May 19, 2024 incident in Kalyani Nagar.
In that tragic event, two IT professionals, Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, were killed when the accused, allegedly under the influence, rammed his luxury car into their motorcycle. Police had argued the act was "heinous" and highlighted attempts to manipulate evidence.
