An army convoy in Manipur’s Vishnupur district was ambushed by unidentified gunmen, resulting in the deaths of two Assam Rifles personnel and injuries to five others. The attack occurred near Nambol on National Highway 150 as a convoy of 33 Assam Rifles was moving from its base in Imphal West. The deceased were a 58-year-old Naib Subedar and 29-year-old rifleman Keshav. The injured soldiers were evacuated to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal and their condition is reported to be stable. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and security forces have launched a search operation. The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, strongly condemned the incident, calling it a "heinous act of violence," while former Chief Minister Anne Boleyn described it as a "cruel blow to Manipur."
