The India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi has seen a major development with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates being removed from the official attendee list. According to government sources, the decision to ask the billionaire philanthropist to stay away from the conference is linked to his name appearing in the recently released Epstein files. The government has reportedly taken this stance to show solidarity with the survivors of the Epstein episode. While Gates was already in India and had recently met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, his name has now been struck off the summit’s website. A spokesperson for the Gates Foundation later clarified that while he may not participate in panel discussions or Q&A sessions, he is still scheduled to deliver a keynote address. The controversy follows a global backlash regarding the Epstein documents, leading to professional and personal repercussions for several high-profile figures. The summit continues at Bharat Mandapam with other global tech leaders in attendance.
