National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah welcomed External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar’s visit to Bangladesh and said it was good that he attended the funeral of former Bangladesh PM Khaleda Zia. He added that Bangladesh is an old friend of India, and strengthening ties will help both countries.
On reports of attacks on Kashmiri shawl vendors in other states, Farooq Abdullah said such incidents are driven by extremist thinking and added that extremism will not last forever.
