Arnab’s Take: The US military blockade of Iranian ports began at 10 a.m. ET after peace talks stalled this weekend, with President Donald Trump threatening Iranian ships that approach the blockade. So far, at least one oil ship appears to have defied Trump’s order and traveled through the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Saudi and Qatari foreign ministers on Monday afternoon to address what Iran described as "the risks posed by provocative US actions" in barring Iranian ports. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) cautioned today that if regular commerce through the Strait of Hormuz does not resume soon, a worldwide food catastrophe may occur.
