Zubeen Garg Funeral: Manager's Role Questioned Amid FIRs, Second Post-Mortem | India Today News

Following the death of singer Zubin Garg in Singapore, his last rites are being held in Guwahati, drawing lakhs of people. Amid the mourning, questions have emerged regarding the circumstances of his death, leading to multiple FIRs being filed. There is scrutiny over his manager’s decision to allow him to swim in the sea, given Garg had a known seizure condition. A key question raised is, “if he has scissor, why the manager had allowed him to go to swim in the sea deep water.” The singer’s wife has reportedly appealed for the FIRs to be withdrawn. His father is said to be suffering from memory loss. In a tribute, singer Udit Narayan remembered Garg as a "down to earth" and "very, very popular" artist who sang in 40 different languages.

Singer Zubin Garg’s final rites will be held with state honours on the outskirts of Guwahati. Following widespread appeals, a second post-mortem was conducted at Guwahati Medical College, a decision announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The funeral procession is set to begin from Saru Sajai Stadium, where fans gathered to pay their last respects. The 52-year-old artist died on September 19 after a scuba diving accident in Singapore. As tributes pour in for the beloved singer, his footprints have been preserved by artist Digandar Bharati as a lasting legacy. The Chief Minister stated that the government would arrange buses for the 85 people, including artists, who will be part of the final commute to the cremation ground in Sonapur.
