Zomato has increased its food delivery platform fee to Rs 14.9 from Rs 12.5 per order, marking a 19% hike. The increase comes six months after Zomato’s last fee revision in September 2025. Swiggy, Zomato’s competitor, already charges a similar platform fee. The hike coincides with rising operational costs due to fuel shortages and oil supply disruptions. Premium petrol prices have also risen by Rs 2, alongside shortages of LPG cylinders. Food delivery platforms typically implement such fee increases once every eight to nine months. Zomato’s platform fee was previously lower than its competitors, but the current situation has prompted this adjustment to maintain operational sustainability amidst increasing logistics costs driven by the fuel crisis.
