Union Minister Rajnath Singh has engaged with several political parties to garner support for the NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate, CP Radhakrishnan. YSRCP President Jaganmohan Reddy has confirmed YSRCP’s support for CP Radhakrishnan’s candidature. Rajnath Singh also held discussions with DMK chief MK Stalin and BJD President Naveen Patnaik. The NDA aims to build consensus for its candidate. However, opposition parties, including the India bloc, seek a symbolic candidate for the Vice Presidential post. The DMK has suggested an opposition candidate from Tamil Nadu to avoid supporting CP Radhakrishnan, citing a ‘trust issue’ and potential electoral implications. The NDA currently holds the support of over 432 Members of Parliament, with YSRCP contributing seven Members of Parliament in Rajya Sabha and four in Lok Sabha.
