Local residents raised alarms over civic negligence, as the deep drain lacked barricades, echoing a similar fatality in Janakpuri days earlier from an open pit. The victim, identified as Birju Kumar from Bihar, was declared dead despite immediate efforts hampered by fast water flow and debris.
