The focus is on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and son Tejashwi Yadav, who appeared before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court for hearings in two major corruption cases—the Land for Job scam and the IRCTC scam. Senior advocate Maninder Singh, representing Lalu Yadav, argued that the case is politically motivated, stating, ‘There is no evidence to show that jobs were given to candidates in lieu of land’. The court is set to deliver its order on the framing of charges against the family and other accused, a development that comes just ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. The allegations in both cases date back to Lalu Yadav’s tenure as Union Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009 and are being investigated by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate.
