BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar praised PM Modi’s policies for lifting nearly 20 crore Indians out of extreme poverty over the last 10 years, according to a World Bank report from April 2025. He credited schemes like PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission for this success. Chandrasekhar criticized the CPM government in Kerala, saying they only helped a few lakh people out of poverty but are taking credit for more. He accused them of mocking the poor, especially when ASHA workers asked for a small salary hike, and claimed CPM uses lies and propaganda for political gain.
