Winter Session Storm: PM Modi's 'Drama' Jibe Meets Priyanka Gandhi's 'Delivery' Counter

The Winter Session of Parliament began on a stormy note as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advice to the Opposition to choose ‘delivery over drama’ triggered an immediate backlash. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra hit back, asserting that ‘raising issues is not drama’ but stalling discussion is. The Opposition also staged protests demanding a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. In the Rajya Sabha, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge welcomed the new Vice President and Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan, while making a pointed reference to the ‘sudden exit’ of former VP Jagdeep Dhankhar. This drew a sharp rebuke from Leader of the House J.P. Nadda, who remarked that Kharge should ‘express his pain to a doctor’, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, who termed the comments unfortunate. The report covers the high-voltage political clashes on Day 1.
