US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he has made it clear to Hamas that the militant group must disarm or face consequences quickly and perhaps violently.
Speaking at a White House meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei, Trump said he had delivered the message to Hamas through intermediaries as part of his ongoing Middle East peace push.
The president claimed Hamas had agreed to his 20-point peace proposal, which calls for the militant group to lay down arms as a precondition for talks. But Trump also warned that if Hamas fails to comply, the United States will disarm them — quickly and perhaps violently.
