Why Muhammad Yunus’ ‘China card’ Against India Shows His Geopolitical Naivety
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with visiting Bangladeshi interim government’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus in Beijing on Friday. Greeting Yunus at the Great Hall of the People, Xi hailed the two countries’ longstanding mutual support and pursuit of win-win cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations 50 years ago. Xi stressed that the two countries should deepen political mutual trust and firmly support each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests, stated broadcaster CCTV reported. Xi pledged that China is ready to work with Bangladesh to jointly promote the building of the multibillion-dollar “Belt and Road” infrastructure initiative and advance cooperation in the fields of the digital economy, green economy, ocean economy, infrastructure construction and water conservancy.
