Born in 1942, Muhammad Ali is considered to be the Greatest Sportsperson Of All Time given his legendary exploits in boxing. Muhammad Ali was destined for greatness from the start. At 18 he won his first Olympic Gold and then went on to win his first Heavyweight Championship beating Sonny Liston.
Ali received respect from all over the World when he refused to fight in the Vietnam War, citing his religious beliefs and opposition to the conflict. He famously quoted, “I have no quarrel with them Viet Cong”.
Muhammad Ali in his iconic career fought 61 fights winning 56 and losing just 5 of them. He retired in 1981. Ali was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease but showed immense resilience throughout his life. In 2016, at 74 years of age, Muhammad Ali passed away.
