Why did Jordan's Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II drive Prime Minister Modi himself?

In an exclusive interview, Jordan Ambassador Yousef Abdelghani discussed the deepening India-Jordan partnership following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first bilateral visit to Jordan. The ambassador revealed the close friendship between PM Modi and King Abdullah II, explaining that Prince Hussein driving the Prime Minister signalled Jordan’s respect and willingness to boost bilateral relations. Ambassador disclosed that PM Modi wanted to visit Jordan before the end of the year to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties. During the visit, five memoranda of understanding were signed covering renewable energy, cultural exchange, water resource management, digital information, and a twinning arrangement between Petra and Ellora Caves. Jordan announced its intention to join the International Solar Alliance, Biofuel Alliance, and Disaster Resilient Infrastructure Alliance. The ambassador highlighted Jordan’s role as a major provider of fertilizers, phosphate, and phosphoric acid to India, with over 1.5 billion dollars planned for investment. Both nations aim to increase bilateral trade from three billion dollars to five billion dollars within five years.
