A stunning image of the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS captured by the European Space Agency’s JUICE spacecraft has finally reached Earth after an unexpected four-month delay. The spacecraft observed the rare cosmic visitor from millions of kilometres away as it travelled through the solar system. Scientists say the delay happened because JUICE was positioned on the far side of the Sun during the observation. This forced the spacecraft to transmit the data slowly using a smaller antenna. The image is now helping researchers study one of the few interstellar objects ever detected.
