In a major embarrassment for the Karnataka Police, the daughter of a serving DGP has been arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle 14.8 kg of gold worth over ₹12 crore from Dubai. The accused, actor Ranya Rao, is the daughter of K. Ramachandra Rao, who serves as the DGP at the Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation. She was apprehended by authorities at Bengaluru International Airport upon her arrival from Dubai.
