Gupta addresses the deletion of 58 lakh names identified as absentee, shifted, dead, or duplicate (ASDD), stating the list has been shared with political parties. He explains that 30 lakh electors not mapped to the 2002 roll will be invited for hearings. Gupta asserts the ‘quality of the work has been satisfactory’ and aims for a ‘faultless electoral roll’ ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
