The ongoing wars in West Asia have resulted in massive human and economic losses, with thousands of civilians killed across Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza. According to HRANA, a space rights group, 3,492 people have been killed in Iran since the war erupted, including over 1,500 civilians and at least 236 children. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies reported at least 1,900 deaths and 20,000 injuries in Iran. In Lebanon, authorities say 1,268 people have been killed in strikes since March 2, including at least 124 children. The Gaza Health Ministry reports that as of February 21, 2026, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed. UNICEF stated in 2025 that 64,000 children have been killed or maimed across Gaza. The financial cost is equally staggering, with the Pentagon reporting that the first six days of war in Iran cost US taxpayers at least 11.3 billion dollars in munitions alone, exceeding the 7.4 billion dollars allocated to the National Cancer Institute. According to the Cause of War Project, the US has provided Israel with more than 21 billion dollars since October 2023.
