The small and featurless nature of white dwarfs allows scientists to analyze transiting atmospheres from any planet. A study says a planet orbiting 5-6 AU as a white dwarf might retain water and can freeze it in icy conditions. Scientists say that all this possibility helps for potential habitability on planets.
