An Iranian supersonic missile struck a factory in Petah Tikva, central Israel, believed to serve the Israeli Defence Forces’ drone technology. The missile caused extensive destruction, burning down the facility and creating a large crater that emergency teams filled within hours. The factory’s facade was shattered, with machines, equipment, and infrastructure completely destroyed. Residential high-rise buildings stood in close proximity to the impact site, and the missile landing just metres away could have resulted in massive casualties. The strike raises questions about how Iranian missiles penetrated Israel’s missile defence system. Yesterday, around six Iranian missiles were fired at Israel, landing in areas including Petah Tikva and Beit Shemesh. Whilst the strikes caused significant property damage, no loss of life was reported. The incident highlights ongoing vulnerabilities despite Israel’s robust defence claims, as the conflict continues to cause destruction on both sides.
