War Breaking: NATO Backs US Action on Iran but Downplays Rift With Trump | Strait Of Hormuz

NATO’s General Secretary has downplayed tensions with US President Donald Trump, stating that over 22 countries are aligning to implement what he described as Trump’s vision. This follows Trump calling NATO allies cowards and paper tigers on social media for refusing to aid efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The NATO chief emphasised that US military action in Iran is crucial. Several NATO nations are now allowing use of their bases to support the US. Meanwhile, Israel has intensified operations in southern Lebanon, striking the Qasniyeh bridge near a village. The bridge is on a major highway connecting Beirut to Tyre, critical for transporting essential supplies to southern Lebanon. Israeli defence and prime ministers have ordered troops to escalate the South Lebanon operation, signalling a potential ground invasion. Iran has stated the Strait of Hormuz remains open to all except its enemies and their partners.
