The Waqf Amendment Bill has been cleared in both houses of Parliament after late-night debates. In the Rajya Sabha, the bill passed with 128 votes in favor and 95 against. The JPC Chairperson Jagdambe Kappa highlighted that the committee held 38 meetings over six months, consulting 284 delegations. The government accepted all recommendations and amendments proposed by the Joint Parliamentary Committee.
