Following the election of the NDA’s C.P. Radhakrishnan as Vice President, the Congress is demanding a probe into alleged cross-voting by opposition MPs. It is suspected that around ten Members of Parliament from the INDIA Alliance voted for the government’s candidate. The opposition’s candidate secured approximately 300 votes, while the NDA candidate received around 452. In response to the outcome, Congress MP Manish Tiwari stated that if there is any truth to the speculation, "it deserves a systematic and a clinical investigation." Because of the secret ballot, it is difficult to definitively identify which MPs may have cross-voted.
