Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has alleged large-scale voter manipulation against the Election Commission, focusing on the Aland constituency in Karnataka from the 2023 Assembly elections. An India Today ground report from Sarasambha Gram Panchayat in Aland found voters who claimed their names had vanished from the electoral rolls days before polling. According to an FIR filed in 2023, of 6,018 applications received for voter deletion, only 24 were accepted.
