'Vote Chori' War: Karnataka Minister Kharge Attacks Election Commission of India

The conflict between the Congress party and the Election Commission has escalated following allegations of voter list manipulation in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. After Rahul Gandhi’s claims of voter deletions, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has targeted the poll panel. Kharge stated, “Election Commission is yet to give vote chori proof,” and mentioned that multiple letters from the state’s CID seeking information on IP addresses and OTPs have gone unanswered. The Election Commission maintains that online voter deletion is impossible and an FIR was registered on this matter in 2023, with information provided at the time. This development marks a new flashpoint in the ongoing dispute over the integrity of electoral rolls.
