Violent protests erupted in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district against the Waqf law, with vehicles torched and property vandalized. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated the VAK law will not be implemented in West Bengal and accused the BJP of misusing religion for political gain. The BJP called for Mamata’s resignation, claiming a breakdown of law and order. At least 15 police personnel were injured and over 100 people arrested in the clashes.
