In a high-decibel political rally in Salem, actor-turned-politician Vijay, chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), launched a scathing attack on the DMK government. Addressing a massive crowd, Vijay redefined the state’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as the ‘Stalin Operating Procedure’, alleging that restrictions are unfairly placed on his party’s events. He criticized the government’s handling of the TNPSC examinations, stating, "This government does not have even the resources to conduct an examination seamlessly." While refraining from commenting on the DMK’s recent ₹5,000 cash assistance announcement, Vijay urged voters to "happily accept all that money" but ensure they vote for TVK. He further challenged established leaders, asserting he has built his party on his own merit rather than "harping on borrowed feathers" of past icons. Vijay also promised to release a comprehensive election manifesto soon, positioning himself as the primary challenger for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
