Venus, often called a "hell planet," is home to bizarre flat-top volcanoes known as pancake domes. Unlike Earth’s volcanoes, these formations are shaped by slow-moving lava and a surprisingly bendy crust. Scientists recently modeled how Venus’ unique geology creates these massive, dome-like structures. The discovery was based on radar data from NASA’s Magellan mission. New missions, VERITAS and DAVINCI, aim to uncover more about Venus’ mysterious landscape, but they won’t launch before 2031.
