Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appealed for peace, warning against a “crazy war” as U.S. military operations escalated in the Caribbean and Pacific targeting alleged drug traffickers.
The comments follow U.S. President Donald Trump’s authorization of covert actions against Venezuela, including the deployment of stealth warplanes and naval vessels. However, Washington has yet to provide proof that the eight boats and a semi-submersible targeted were involved in drug smuggling.
