Muraleedharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs, has accused Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of using his controversial anti-Sanatan Dharma remarks as part of a political strategy. Muraleedharan claims that Vijayan’s comments aim to appease certain groups while undermining Hindu traditions to gain political advantage. He argues that the Kerala CM’s rhetoric is divisive and detracts from real issues in the state. The controversy has sparked a wider debate on the treatment of Hinduism in Kerala and could influence the state’s upcoming elections.
On Wednesday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reaffirmed his statement cautioning against "organised efforts" to portray sage and social reformer Sree Narayana Guru as a proponent of Sanatana Dharma.
"I stand by what I have stated about Sanatana Dharma," Vijayan told a press conference here while reacting to a query about the mounting criticism from the BJP over his statement made during the Sivagiri pilgrimage conference held on Tuesday.
