The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Uttarkashi, and new satellite images reveal a temporary lake near Harsil, raising concerns of further downstream flooding. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami stated, "With the help of state helicopters, army Chinook, MIE, more than 1000 people have been rescued from there. UPCL is also working to build electricity lines there at a rapid pace. If the work is completed today, there will be electricity supply as there used to be earlier."
