Uttarkashi Cloudburst News LIVE: CM Dhami Meets People Affected Due To Floods
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the flood-affected regions of Uttarkashi, particularly Dharali village on following a devastating cloudburst and flash floods that struck on August 5, 2025. The disaster, triggered by a cloudburst in the Kheer Ganga river’s catchment area, caused widespread destruction, claiming at least five lives, with several others missing, including 11 Army personnel. CM Dhami met with affected families, offering condolences and assuring them of full government support. He conducted an aerial survey, reviewed rescue operations, and held meetings at the State Emergency Operations Centre to coordinate relief efforts. Over 190 people have been rescued, with agencies like the Indian Army, NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, and local administration working tirelessly despite challenges from damaged roads and heavy rainfall. Dhami emphasized providing food, shelter, medical aid, and restoring connectivity, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured central assistance.
