Security forces, including the Army, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF, are battling extreme conditions in Uttarakhand’s flood-hit regions. Flash floods and mudslides have struck areas like Dharali and Harsal, blocking roads and burying areas. Critical roads, including the Dharali approach, are broken, cutting off ground connectivity. Persistent poor weather, thick fog, and rains have severely hampered visibility, grounding helicopters and slowing foot operations. Despite deploying MI-17s and Chinooks, aerial rescue is limited. NDRF teams could not fly out of Dehradun due to cloud cover. Dense cloud accumulation is expected to continue for the next two to three days, making rescue operations more difficult and dangerous. Rescuers are racing against time and weather to save people. The weather does not seem to be improving and this cloud cover is expected to be there for the next two to three days as well. The army camp in Dharali was also hit by a massive mudslide and flash flood.
