The ongoing war is costing the United States upwards of $1 billion per day, with spending exceeding $10.2 billion in the first 10 days. Approximately $5.6 billion worth of munitions were used in just the first 48 hours of strikes on Iran, including Tehran and other locations. Iranian retaliation has inflicted significant battlefield losses on the US, shooting down 11 MQ-9 Reaper drones, each costing between $30 to $35 million. Two THAAD (Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense) systems, worth approximately $500 million each, have been hit, indicating precise Iranian targeting and leaving US and Israeli forces vulnerable in some areas. The US has fired more than 170 Tomahawk cruise missiles costing about $626 million. Iran damaged a $1.1 billion early warning radar at a US base in Qatar on 28 February, and destroyed $20 million worth of satellite communication terminals in Bahrain. In a friendly fire incident on 2 March, three US F-15 Strike Eagle fighter jets were lost, costing $282 million. Eight US service personnel have been confirmed killed in action. Israel estimates its damage from the air war at nearly $2.9 billion weekly.
