The air traffic control tower at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey was evacuated on Monday after reports emerged of a burning smell coming from an elevator. The flights were halted for a brief period of time.
New York Post quoted the Federal Aviation Administration saying, “Arrivals and departures are temporarily paused at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey after air traffic controllers evacuated the tower because of a burning smell coming from an elevator."
