The United States has sunk 20 Iranian Navy warships and one Kilo-class submarine in the past 12 hours, according to fresh details from the Department of War. The Kilo-class submarine, originally of Russian origin, was one of Iran’s most potent weapon platforms. The US struck a Solevani-class corvette in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial choke point that Iran had practically closed. The United States stated the Guardian of Hormuz now lies at the bottom of the sea. American President Donald Trump announced that US warships will escort all tankers in the region if necessary to ensure Iran cannot block the Strait of Hormuz. The US Secretary of War Pete Hicks said the operations aim to destroy Iran’s naval capabilities, which have long threatened shipping lanes. Around 250 to 300 ships pass through the 30-kilometre-wide Strait of Hormuz daily, making escorting logistically challenging for the American Navy.
