On the 18th day of the West Asia war, US President Donald Trump stated that Iran has been ‘decimated’, with a 90 per cent reduction in ballistic missile launches and 95 per cent reduction in drone attacks. Trump claimed that almost everything on Iran’s Kharg Island was destroyed except oil facilities, and over 100 Iranian naval vessels have been sunk or destroyed. He called Iran a ‘paper tiger’ and said the country’s missile and drone production capabilities have been severely degraded. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed the country’s right to defend against invasion, while Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called for neighbouring states hosting US forces to clarify their stance. Data shows Iran has launched 893 drones and 200 ballistic missiles on Israel, while launching over 1,600 drones and 300 plus ballistic missiles on the UAE, indicating Iran is mounting greater pressure on the United States through attacks on the UAE.
