Iran has praised Spain for opposing the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran. Tehran commended Madrid’s stance after Spain publicly criticised the war and refused to support the military action.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez earlier warned that the conflict with Iran would not lead to a “fairer international order”. He said the war risks creating more instability and urged all sides to pursue diplomacy instead of military escalation.
Sánchez has also rejected allowing US forces to use Spanish bases for attacks on Iran and has repeatedly called for de-escalation and respect for international law.
The comments come amid growing diplomatic tensions between Washington and Madrid as the conflict in West Asia continues to intensify.
