At least 150 oil and LNG tankers have dropped anchor beyond the Strait of Hormuz, according to Reuters estimates based on MarineTraffic ship-tracking data. Dozens more vessels were reported stationary on the opposite side of the chokepoint. The movements follow U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, as tankers cluster in open Gulf waters off Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The strategic shipping corridor, critical to global oil and gas flows, is now under heightened security risk.
