Gulf allies are openly criticising the United States and Donald Trump over the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, stating they received no prior warning before Iranian retaliation targeted American bases on their soil. These allies claim America prioritised planning the mission with Israel over giving them adequate time to prepare, and their warnings about regional escalation were ignored. The conflict has paralysed aviation across West Asia, with Dubai International Airport, the world’s second busiest, shut for six days following Iranian drone attacks. Over 27,000 flights to major West Asian hubs have been cancelled, leaving hundreds of thousands of passengers stranded. Indian carriers including IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet face significant operational and financial impacts. IndiGo reports daily losses of 4 to 5 crore rupees, while SpiceJet loses 25 to 35 lakh rupees daily. Airspace closures across Iran, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain continue, with only Oman and Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah remaining fully operational for flights to India.
