US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor disclosed that President Donald Trump spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the ongoing Middle East situation, emphasising the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open. Speaking exclusively to India Today, Ambassador Gor stated that Iran is the ‘one belligerent country’ attempting to blockade the strait, calling the action ‘unacceptable’. He stressed that the Strait of Hormuz is considered part of international waters and ‘nobody should be able to hold this area hostage’. The envoy described the Trump-Modi conversation as ‘very productive’, noting that President Trump considers Prime Minister Modi a ‘dear friend’ and India a ‘vital partner’. Gor emphasised that energy supplies including LPG, LNG and natural gas should be able to transit through international waters without any country attempting to ‘bully the rest of the world’. He refrained from revealing further details of the private conversation between the two leaders
