104 Indian nationals have been deported from the United States and landed in Amritsar. This is part of Trump’s new policy targeting illegal immigrants. The deportees were reportedly handcuffed and transported on a military aircraft. Out of the 104, 30 are from Punjab. The Indian government is urged to engage with US authorities for a more humane approach to deportation. An SIT has been set up to investigate unauthorised immigration agents. #indiandeportees
