Indian airlines are facing an unprecedented crisis with over 150 bomb threats received in the past 10 days. Despite an arrest made by the Bombay police, the threats continue. The Civil Aviation Ministry is considering making such threats a cognisable offence. The MHS I4C wing is investigating these hoax calls, some of which were traced back to London and Germany. However, tracing is proving difficult due to the use of masked VPN IDs. The situation is causing significant disruption and financial loss to the industry.
