Communal clashes erupted in Davangere, Karnataka, and Gandhinagar, Gujarat, over posters and social media posts with the message ‘I love Mohammed’. In Davangere on the night of September 24th, a verbal spat escalated into stone pelting, resulting in damage to multiple houses and injury to a girl. A similar incident in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar district occurred during a Garba event, where two groups clashed, leading to vandalism of vehicles and a shop being set on fire. The BJP has responded to the Karnataka incident, with JS Prashant stating it was a pre-planned act. He said, "this is probably a mob behavior, but it’s a pre-planned attack. Pre-planned attack on Hindus." Police have been deployed in both locations to control the situations.
