Uganda has dismissed a report by the United Nations alleging that the Uganda People’s Defence Force carried out bombardments that harmed civilians in South Sudan.
Ugandan authorities have strongly rejected the findings, calling the report inaccurate and defending the actions of their military forces. Officials insist that UPDF operations in South Sudan are aimed at maintaining regional security and supporting stability in the conflict-affected region.
The UN report had raised concerns about possible civilian casualties during military operations, sparking debate over the conduct of armed forces in cross-border security missions.
