Gujarat is set to move forward with the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel addressed the media, announcing the formation of a 5-member committee chaired by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Desai. The committee has been tasked with drafting the UCC and will submit its report to the state government within the next 45 days. This move is part of Gujarat’s ongoing efforts to implement a Uniform Civil Code, which aims to bring uniformity in personal laws across communities.
