Two people, a father and son, have been hacked to death by a violent mob in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Opposition leader Shuvendu Adhikari has moved the Calcutta High Court seeking deployment of central forces. BSF personnel are currently manning troubled areas within their 50km jurisdiction. The Bengal police claim to have brought the situation under control, but tensions remain high following Friday’s violence.
