Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay launched a scathing attack on the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government during a campaign rally in Salem. Addressing a large gathering, Vijay questioned the ‘experience’ of veteran parties, defining it as nothing more than ‘being corrupt and taking the money of the people.’ He criticized Chief Minister MK Stalin, claiming that law and order, women’s safety, and youth employment are ‘out of control’ in the state. Vijay highlighted the plight of protesting farmers, teachers, and doctors as evidence of public dissatisfaction. He urged the ‘Gen Z generation’ to reject the practice of receiving money for votes, stating, ‘My vote is my right. No one can buy us.’ The TVK leader also took a swipe at the government’s failure to conduct TNPSC exams properly, citing recent technical faults. He concluded by positioning the upcoming assembly election as a direct contest between the DMK and TVK, promising a government focused on social justice and basic necessities.
